The name Sugar Beach comes from the fine white sand located on this beach, which makes the Sugar Beach resort a prime location for your Hawaii vacation. Sugar Beach Resort is located at the beginning of Kihei on five miles of white sand beach excellent for sunning, swimming, and strolling.  The exceptional beach front location also allows for spectacular whale watching through the winter months.

Wake up to the refreshing sound of waves lapping on the shore in one of these one or two bedroom condos.  These condos come with a full kitchen, central A/C, ceiling fans, cable TV, high-speed internet access, washer/dryer, and private lanai.  The one bedroom condos are 709 sq ft., while the two bedroom condos are 1,518 sq ft.

Sugar Beach Resort has 216 condos on the property.  There are two main buildings, the Mill Building to the north and the Plantation Building to the South.  The two buildings are seperated by the swimming pool and sun deck.  The buildings are 6 stories high and have elevator service.  Ocean front condos line the front of the building and view straight out over the beach to the water which is about 30 yards away.  Ocean View condos require one to go out onto the lanai to see the ocean and you have to view over the pool area to see the water.  Garden View condos face each other and can see the parking lot.

The Sugar Beach Resort offers a centrally located swimming pool, 2 tennis courts, sauna, bbq, putting green, restaurant, and shops.  There is an activity desk run by Maui Sights and Treasures which offers a knowledgable staff to help you plan your outings with minimum stress.  Additionally, a licensed massage therapist is also available through Massage Maui. 


The Ocean View condos are located in the center of the Sugar Beach resort.  The view of the ocean in this category is either a side view or out over the pool.  The Ocean Front condos look out directly to the ocean.

The downside to this location is that while the swimming is excellent, there is nothing to see if you try snorkeling.  Also, the wind tends to come up around 11 am and stick around for a few hours.

The Sugar Beach Resort is unique as it’s built in a Mauritian sugar plantations style which has a nice tropical feel to it.  The exceptional beach front location and proximity to restaurants, golfing, activities, shopping, make this location a great value.

We accept checks, Visa or MasterCard.
Deposits: $ 350. Deposit due at time of booking.
Balance: Due 30 days prior to arrival. For last minute bookings full payment is due immediately.


CANCELLATION POLICY



  • Deposit less $ 100.00 is refundable if cancellation notice is received 30 days prior to arrival. (By 10/31 for Christmas bookings.)
  • Penalties will apply if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival. (After 10/31 for Christmas bookings.)

Terms & Conditions



  • Rates are subject to Hawaii State and Transient/Accommodation Tax of 13.42%
  • Room rates are subject to one-time out cleaning fees of: $ 90.00 for 1 bedroom units, $ 140.00 for 2 bedroom units.
  • Reservations are subject to a one-time $ 35 reservation fee.
  • Reservations must be secured by a $ 350.00 US Dollars deposit.
  • 4 night minimum. 7 night minimum during Christmas Dec 21, – Jan 3.
  • Full prepayment due 30 days prior to arrival.
  • Full prepayment due 11/1 for any booking with arrival 12/21 to 1/3. 
  • Children under 18 stay free when sharing accommodation and existing beds with adults 
  • Check-in time 3 PM. Check-out time 11 AM.
  • Prices subject to change without notice.
